entertainment- movies , information- news, Education and advertising. The categorise i will be looking at are viral advertising- marketing techniques that uses pre-existing social network to build awareness in there brand.
Viral Marketing is a marketing strategy that relies on individuals rather than traditional campaigns to pass along a message to others. It usually refers to marketing on the Internet.

The two videos i am going to be looking at is a drinking awareness video and knife crime video which are both Viral marketing videos. The drinking awareness video shows a female character getting ready for a night out then shows her ripping up her clothes, being sick and messing up her hair. The video is targeted at young people who are more likely to go on nights out. The video is shown on the TV and Internet. This advert shows that this is how drinking too much can cause you to come home like this women. The videos professionally filmed so it is TV showing quality.
The knife crime video is also shown on TV and the Internet. Once again the audience is aimed at teenagers. The advert shows a male in prison and that's because that's were the man is living. The aim of this video is to have people aware that if they use a knife they could be spending the rest of there life in prison. Also the video is professionally filmed.
I think both videos are very good to show awareness to young individuals. They both show the effects of what can happen if you do not listen to the advertisement.
Secondly i then analysed two virtual tour videos, which are both very similar. I first looked at museums and heritage, its a 360 virtual tour of the museum. The target audience is mainly schools and older people,but its for everyone. The digital platform it appears on is the Internet. The 360 virtual tour of the museum could be used for educational purposes. The purpose of the video is to show people what the museum without having to travel. Also the quality of the 360 tour is professional.
I then looked at a virtual tour of a dental practice, it wasn't as high class as the museum. The video shows a small a small tour of the room from left to fight. Unlike the museum its targeted at everyone because everyone has to go to the dentist. the dentists tour shows what the place looks like showing the facilities which will persuade people to come.
I think that museums and Heritage is better then the dental practice, the reason for this is because it looks more professional, unlike the dental practice which looks like pictures all put together side by side. I think the dentist should get the virtual tour done professionally, only so people can take it more seriously because it will look more professional.
Thirdly i looked at user generated videos. The first one was a YouTube video ' passion and Melvin- cater to you' uploaded by two young males. In the video two young men are sitting down singing and one is playing the guitar. The target audience would be mostly women or people who's interests are music. The digital platform is YouTube. The purpose is for entertainment and to show there talents world wide. The video was recorded at home with a professional microphone and a good quality camera.
The second user generated video is a woman called Kasia Popowska singing a cover of Christina Aguleria- you lost me. The target audience is very similar, people who's interests are music. The videos digital platform appears also on YouTube only. The purpose of the video is for entertainment and was film professionally with great quality in a music studio, with professional music recording equipment.
I think both videos have great quality and both look very professional.
Finally i analysed movie trailers, the first one was toy story 3.In the trailer it shows the main character has grown up and will be moving out to college. he thinks about throwing his toys away which is a big step. The target audience is mainly kinds and for adults. The trailer appears on TV YouTube and other network sites. The trailers purpose is to make people want to see the final 'Toy Story3' as they show an exciting part of the movie.
The sound and quality of the toy story trailer is professionally filmed.
The second trailer i analysed was the Exorcism of Emily rose.its about a young girl who is possessed by an evil exorcist and a priest is trying to fight it out of her. The target audience is people who like horrors and its age rating is 15+. The trailers digital platform appears on TV and YouTube. Watching the trailer makes you want to watch the whole movie because of the excitement you get out of the trailer. The purpose of the trailer is to make people want to watch it, and the quality of the trailer is very professional.
I think both videos are very professional and show a very exciting part of the movie to get peoples attention attracting viewers with the professional sounds and quality.
